We are a well established restaurant and are looking for a Chef to join our kitchen team and deliver consistently high quality meals using the freshest of ingredients.
The position is a full time role involving scheduled weekend work. We are offering the suitable candidate a base salary of $75,000-80,000+super (above award wage) for a 38-hour week.
In this position, you will:
- Contribute to menu development by creating recipes using local and seasonal ingredients, undertake costing and prepare budget
- Control and rotate stock, estimate supplies, undertake timely ordering ensuring within budget
- Inspect kitchen facilities and equipment to ensure operability, cleanliness and meeting safety standards. Arrange maintenance as required
- Co-ordinate and supervise mise-en-place prior to service
- Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets
- Direct and supervise food preparation, demonstrating techniques as required
- Cook menu items using a variety of techniques
- Train and supervise kitchen staff
We are looking for a person with
- Minimum 1 year experience as a chef.
- Relevant Qualification in Commercial Cookery

- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure to deliver timely and quality results.
