What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Provisional Fellow In Pancreatic Surgery is to provide effective clinical management of surgical patients, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. The Provisional Fellow is the key person who works closely with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and deals with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature, whilst exercising discretion, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality. The position designed to provide a twelve month program of supervised post-FRACS (or equivalent) training in Pancreatic and Biliary Surgery. It aims to provide training for General Surgeons who have an interest in Pancreatic Surgery and wishing to further develop skills and experience in managing surgical patients within the scope of an Acute Surgical Unit (ASU) model in a busy tertiary hospital setting.

- Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
- Experience with research in Upper GI /Pancreatic Surgery
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
To be employed by NSW Health, applicants must provide evidence of vaccination and comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive (PD2024_015). Compliance with this policy, including any amendments made from time to time, is a mandatory condition of employment.
