About the Role:
We have an opportunity for an Integration Engineer to work within the SEA1442 Maritime Communication Modernisation (MCM) Phase 5 work package. You will predominantly provide oversight, advice, and technical expertise to support the integration of the Cobra and King Cobra SATCOM terminals onto various platforms.
SEA1442 is the lead program for future integrated communications in the maritime environment and will provide selected RAN Fleet units with a new Primary and Alternate Satellite Terminal system. You will be responsible for assessing Contractor deliverables and designs and providing guidance to the Contractor and the Project on integration matters.
You will also be required to work collaboratively and effectively with the CoA (CASG, RAN, etc.), assisting both in achieving the required quality of outputs in delivering materiel in accordance with the ASDEFCON contract, CASG requirements, Seaworthiness and ODCS (formerly the Capability Life Cycle).
What you will be involved with:
- Support the SEA1442 Phase 5 Project Managers and Engineering Managers on platform integration matters.
- Provide engineering recommendations, within their delegation, to the Engineering Manager, Project Manager and Chief Engineer.
- Support end-to-end integration of the project onto platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the integration process.
- Proactively identify and resolve interface challenges to support successful integration.
- Act as a liaison to ensure alignment between technical, operational, and project goals.
- Facilitate regular progress updates, technical meetings, and issue resolution sessions.
- Provide on-site support during key phases of installation, testing, and deployment.
- Assess and provide feedback on deliverables under acquisition and sustainment contracts.
- Attend and contribute to Materiel System Reviews (MSRs).
- Participating in Interface Control Working Groups (ICWGs).
- Providing specialist technical advice and the assessment of technical risk on all aspects of the SEA1442 Phase 5 Maritime Communications Modernisation System within their Engineering Delegation.
- Support Technical Certification and Product Acceptance Planning.
- Review and advise on system architecture elements, including the potential for proposed architectures to fit within the future Maritime architecture constructs.
Provide effective stakeholder engagement, both internal and external to WP1 and WP2.

What we would like from you:
- Bachelor of Engineering or other technical Tertiary qualification in a related field recognised by the Washington Accord for Professional Engineers.
- Engineers Australia Chartered Status or equivalent, or the ability to achieve Chartered status.
- Experience in the successful application of systems engineering on Defence projects or in a comparable industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to process complex information and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in a maritime project, such as within the Defence Seaworthiness Assurance environment and using the Navy Harmonised Risk Matrix (Desirable).
- Experience in the engineering fields of Communications Systems, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Combat Systems Engineering, or similar.
Experience in Capability Projects in the Defence and/or Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) environment (Highly Desired).
