Incident Response Officer

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

Salary Security Officer Grade 2 $1255.60 p.w. plus penalty rates plus super

About the role

Respond to alarm activations and calls for assistance that are received from security systems in schools
Provide advice in regard to a range of incidents that may be reported by schools
Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Prepare professional, well written reports in regard to incidents that have occurred
Use a computerised database to record clear and accurate details of incidents
Work effectively within a small team to meet stakeholder expectations where workloads may be unpredictable
Complete related administrative duties.
Rotating shifts 7 days a week: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am (penalty rates apply)

School Infrastructure is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. This encompasses the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.

About you

Must be an Australian Citizen
Hold a valid NSW Drivers Licence
Availability to work a 38-hour week rotating roster
Experience in working is a security control room environment would be desirable.
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
