About the Opportunity

The Workplace Based Assessment Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, planning, managing and implementing the Australian Medical Council (AMC) Workplace Based Assessment (WBA) Program for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) across Hunter New England Local Health District. Based at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, you will work as part of a collaborative team alongside the WBA Director, Clinical Leads and Senior Coordinator, with support and mentoring from the Clinical Lead and Senior Coordinator located in Newcastle.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

Coordinate the HNELHD WBA Program in consultation with the WBA Director, WBA Clinical Leads and WBA Senior Coordinator to ensure accreditation guidelines are met in line with the nationally recognised AMC program.

Collaborate with the WBA Director, WBA Clinical Leads and WBA Senior Coordinator to organise and coordinate orientation, workshops, calibration sessions and other events for HNELHD WBA Program assessors and candidates.

Review and maintain effective and accurate records management systems to create, monitor, record and store files related to the WBA program, candidates and assessors to ensure accurate and safe storage of information.

Create and maintain effective and ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Australian Medical Council, the University of Newcastle, AHPRA and other related organisations.

Coordinate candidate assessments in line with AMC accreditation requirements, including scheduling dates, times and venues in accordance with assessor availability, and identifying suitable patient cases selected for the assessment prior to the encounter and uploading results to the AMC portal.

Assist in identifying deficiencies or barriers in the candidate experience and progress, and participate in the development, maintenance and review of WBA systems, policies and procedures, and evaluate new methods to continuously improve service delivery.
Prepare accurate and concise reports, documents and correspondence to clearly communicate the required information to a range of audiences.

Coordinate strategic campaigns to attract and retain WBA candidates and assessors, to ensure the long-term growth and effectiveness of the WBA program.

Act in accordance with the HNE Health Values Charter and NSW Health Code of Conduct; model behaviours that reflect the Excellence Framework (Every Patient, Every Time) and ensure work is conducted in a manner that demonstrates values of cultural respect in accordance with HNE Health's Closing the Gap strategy.

About You

You will bring:

Demonstrated experience implementing and coordinating medium-large educational projects.

Knowledge and understanding of the complexities associated with International Medical Graduates seeking general registration via Workplace Based Assessment Program.

Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate numerous tasks concurrently, plan, organise and establish priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to engage, collaborate, build relationships and negotiate outcomes with a diverse and wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of professional conduct, including the capacity to exercise discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present findings in a clear and comprehensive manner.

We are looking for someone with strong communication and organisational skills who can work collaboratively as part of a team while also working autonomously, with strong attention to detail.
