Full Job Description

XL Precast Group is an Australian family owned and operated precast concrete supplier. We service QLD, ACT and NSW – where our company headquarters is located. We manufacture precast products on a national footprint, achieving our vision on delivering projects with integrity and service, the same family values that have allowed us to grow our operations since 1997.

The Role

Due to the high level of growth and expansion into new markets, XL Precast is expanding and looking for a skilled and fully qualified Formwork Carpenter to join our team. This is a Full-time position with 38-hour basic weeks.

Key responsibilities

The successful applicant will report to the site supervisor on a daily basis, some of the following tasks are as follows:

Making formwork from timber, plywood or plastic and steel as per shop drawings
Ability to read and understand drawings
Selecting and ordering materials required and prepare layouts
Measuring and cutting wood or metal
Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
Safely operating hand and power tools
Prepared to assist other trades

Minimum Requirements:

Trade qualification: Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220) or equivalent; Certificate III in Formwork (FWP series) is advantageous
Proven experience (typically 2–5+ years) in formwork carpentry, including form building and removal, handling architectural finishes, and working on commercial or precast projects
Strong ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings accurately.
Construction induction (“White Card”) mandatory for site work.
Proficient with hand and power carpentry tools, and committed to workplace health & safety.
Able to carry formwork, work outdoors in varying conditions, climb scaffolding, and work at heights
