THE POSITION:
Kick-start your engineering career with Fairfield City Council. This full-time fixed term opportunity (up to two years) will provide hands-on experience in the design of traffic and other civil projects while working alongside experienced engineering professionals.
As a Graduate Professional Engineer, you will provide professional engineering support and contribute to investigations, design solutions and minor projects that help deliver positive outcomes for our community. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you'll build your technical and project management capabilities while participating in a diverse range of infrastructure and traffic-related projects.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Full Australian working rights for the duration of the fixed-term contract.
- A Degree in Civil Engineering (or be in the final year of study) suitable for membership of Engineers Australia.
- An understanding of engineering standards, guidelines and practices.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- An interest in developing skills in engineering software such as AutoCAD and other civil design software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to organise, prioritise and manage competing demands.
- Basic knowledge of project management principles, including management of time, cost and scope.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Current Class C NSW Driver Licence.
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Full-time position, working 35 hours per week
- Fixed term contract, up to two (2) years
- This position is a Grade 4, with a salary range starting from $80,758 p.a. plus 12% superannuation
- Civil Liability allowance of 3.5%
