Senior Advisor, Scheme Performance & Insights (Temporary Parental Leave Backfill)

About the Team

The Scheme Performance & Insights team provides performance reporting, analysis and strategic insights across SIRA's statutory insurance schemes. We support executive decision-making by translating data, risks and emerging trends into clear, actionable intelligence that helps improve outcomes for customers and scheme stakeholders.

This temporary opportunity has a strong focus on the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme, supporting the development of performance reporting, executive insights and scheme monitoring activities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and analytical professional to join the Scheme Performance & Insights team for a 12‑month parental leave backfill opportunity.

Working closely with scheme experts, data analysts and senior leaders, you will lead the monitoring and reporting of Workers Compensation Scheme performance. You will help transform complex information into meaningful insights, identify emerging issues and opportunities, and contribute to evidence-based decision making across the organisation.

This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data, policy, strategy and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and delivery of Workers Compensation performance reporting.
Analyse scheme data and performance indicators to identify trends, risks and emerging issues.
Prepare executive-level reporting, briefing material and presentations.
Translate complex information into clear insights for a range of audiences.
Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of performance frameworks, scorecards and reporting products.
Work collaboratively with scheme stakeholders to manage the Workers Compensation Scheme risk register, ensuring risks are identified, validated, monitored and escalated appropriately to support informed decision-making.
Collaborate with stakeholders across policy, supervision, research, analytics and scheme design functions.
Provide high-quality advice to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Contribute to performance monitoring and evaluation activities across the broader Scheme Performance & Insights portfolio.

About You

You will bring:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience interpreting and communicating data, trends and performance information.
Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Experience preparing reports and insights for senior executives.
The ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
A collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.

Desirable Experience

Workers compensation, insurance, regulation, public sector or related industry experience.
Experience with performance reporting, scheme risk, business intelligence, policy analysis or program evaluation.
Familiarity with translating data into strategic insights and recommendations.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for roles in the NSW public sector, applicants must:

Be NSW residents or in the process of relocating to NSW

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $133348 base plus superannuation
