Full Job Description

Short Socials is a Melbourne-based content creation agency specialising in short-form video for personal brands including Jane Lu, Sana Coffee, The Sneaker Laundry, Angela's Bakery and Bubble Cup.

We create organic Reels and TikToks that drive viral results, and we're looking for a Videographer / Shooter to help bring our content strategies to life.

You'll work closely with our clients and Content Strategists to capture engaging footage that aligns with each client's content plan.

The Role

Your primary responsibility is to attend client shoots, guide clients on camera, capture footage according to the content brief, and upload footage for the editing team.

This is an execution-focused role. You'll be responsible for ensuring all required content is captured efficiently and that clients feel comfortable and confident throughout the shoot.

Reports to: Content Strategist
Works with: Clients, Content Strategists and Editors

Key Responsibilities

Content Production

Shoot content according to the content brief provided by the Content Strategist, while adapting and improvising when planned shots are unavailable on the day
Direct and guide clients on how to act and talk naturally in front of the camera
Proof checking clips to ensure the brief was shot accurately
Ensure all required footage is captured during each shoot
Help clients feel comfortable, confident and natural on camera
Represent Short Socials professionally during client interactions

File Management

Upload footage promptly following each shoot, same day
Organise and submit footage according to company systems for the editing team

Team Collaboration

Communicate clearly with clients and Content Strategists
Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled shoots
Follow company systems, processes and shoot standards

Performance Expectations

Attend shoots reliably and punctually
Capture all footage required by the content brief
Upload footage within agreed timeframes
Maintain a positive and professional client experience
Follow company systems and processes consistently

Requirements

Experience

1+ years of experience filming content and guiding clients in front of the camera

Equipment

Owns a recent smartphone capable of filming high-quality content for Instagram Reels and TikTok
Own a laptop or tablet to view and refer to content brief throughout the shoot
Own a portable charger
Reliable access to mobile data and internet for uploading footage

Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to make clients feel comfortable on camera
Strong attention to detail
Reliable and organised
Ability to follow content briefs and execute efficiently

Bonus (Not Required)

Experience working with business owners or personal brands
Understanding of what makes short-form content go viral
