The Role

The Associate AE role at Podium is built for high-performing SDRs, BDRs or Account Executives outside of SaaS, who are ready to run their own deals but haven't been given the seat to do it. It's a genuine step into an Account Executive career — you'll own a full sales cycle from prospecting through to close, selling Podium's AI-powered platform to SMB owners and decision-makers across a range of industries.
What makes this different from being thrown in the deep end: the Associate AE role sits between Senior SDR and AE1, with a ramped quota and a structured coaching program designed to build your closing skills properly. You'll have a dedicated mentor, weekly deal coaching, and clear, published criteria for promotion to AE1 — so you know exactly what the path looks like from day one.
You'll join a collaborative, ambitious team in our Queen & Collins CBD office, with uncapped commission from your very first deal and real earning potential as you ramp.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own a full sales cycle end to end — from prospecting and qualification through to negotiation and close.
- Build and manage your own pipeline through proactive outbound prospecting, alongside allocated inbound opportunities.
- Run consultative discovery conversations to understand customer challenges and business goals.
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations that showcase the value of Podium's AI platform.
- Build relationships with business owners and senior decision-makers, guiding them through the buying journey.
- Work closely with your AE mentor and Sales Manager through live deal coaching, call reviews, and demo certification.
- Consistently achieve and exceed your ramped monthly revenue and activity targets.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM hygiene.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and AI technology so you can act as a trusted advisor.
What We're Looking For
- 12+ months in an SDR, BDR, or similar pipeline-generation role
- A proven track record of consistently hitting or exceeding quota.
- Strong outbound prospecting skills, with genuine confidence generating your own pipeline.
- Solid discovery and objection handling, and a real appetite to develop your negotiation and closing skills.
- Comfortable engaging with business owners, CEOs, and senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised, with good pipeline management habits and CRM discipline.
- Coachable and curious — you actively seek feedback and act on it.
- Self-motivated and resilient, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
We'll also consider you if you don't have a tech sales background. If you've been selling and hitting targets in another environment — recruitment, real estate, hospitality, retail, media, insurance, or similar — and you can show a consistent record of performance and a clear reason you want to move into tech sales, we want to hear from you.
