Our state-of-the-art facilities boast a wide range of group fitness classes, a 25-meter outdoor seasonal pool, summer swimming lessons, and an array of fun children's sporting and developmental programs. The North Melbourne Recreation Centre (NMRC) is an important community facility, managed by YMCA Victoria in partnership with City of Melbourne. The Centre is designed to provide the local community with a range of recreational, social, cultural and educational experiences. In addition to the Recreation Centre, the Centre Manager will also oversee the management and operation of the North Melbourne Outdoor (Seasonal) Pool (NMOP). The pool is located approximately 200m from the Recreation Centre

About the role

As our Fitness Instructor at Carlton Baths & North Melbourne Recreation Centre, you will be responsible for leading a variety of group fitness classes and coaching a wide range of clients. You must have exceptional communication skills to effectively inform and demonstrate the benefits of participating in our classes. You must also be organised to ensure that our classes run smoothly and efficiently.

As a Fitness Instructor we would prefer candidates who have experience working in Zumba, Aqua, Cycle and Pilates.

We pride ourselves on our supportive and energetic environment, and we are looking for an instructor who can bring their own positive energy to our team. If you are ready to inspire and motivate others to achieve their fitness goals, then we want to hear from you.

This is a casual position, with an hourly rate from $56.56 onwards + super, experience dependent. This role would require you to be available to work weekdays and weekends.

About you

As our Group Fitness Instructor you will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for health and fitness. You will possess exceptional communication skills and can effectively motivate and inspire clients to achieve their fitness goals. You will have a deep understanding of various training styles and methods, and can cater to the needs of a wide range of clients during our classes.

Our ideal candidate is also highly organised, able to manage their time effectively, and can ensure the smooth running of our classes.

Above all, you will be a team player who can bring your own positive energy and enthusiasm to our team!

You will need experience in taking group fitness classes to be successful in this role.

Essential Qualifications

Certificate III or IV in Fitness or approved equivalent
Maintain current AUSactive registration
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Able to run multiple styles of classes (desired)
