About the Role
This is a permanent, part-time role, 4 days a week.
The Learning Officer leads the design, delivery and growth of the National Wool Museum's Learn Program, including early years learning, school excursions and incursions, teacher professional development, and family learning experiences.
Working closely with the Programs Manager, you will create engaging, curriculum-aligned programs that connect audiences with the Museum's exhibitions, collections and stories. You will play a key role in driving educational excellence, increasing school engagement, and supporting the Museum's strategic, cultural and revenue objectives.
What You Will Bring
You are an enthusiastic educator with strong program delivery and relationship-building skills. You are equally comfortable facilitating learning experiences, developing educational resources, managing program logistics and building partnerships within the education sector.
You bring the ability to:
- Deliver engaging, inclusive and curriculum-aligned learning experiences for students, teachers, families and community audiences.
- Design, review and enhance education programs, resources and educator materials aligned with contemporary educational practice and the Australian and Victorian Curriculum.
- Build strong relationships with schools, educators and community stakeholders to grow participation and learning opportunities.
- Manage school bookings, program administration and resource coordination while providing excellent customer service.
- Use data, feedback and evaluation to improve program quality, participation and audience outcomes.
- Develop promotional content and support initiatives that increase awareness and engagement with the Learn Program.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a strong commitment to child safety, accessibility, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Essential experience:
To be successful in this role, you will have a qualification in teaching, education or related discipline or demonstrated experience teaching workshops and facilitating programs in galleries, museums, libraries or other cultural institutions.
- Ability to interpret content and develop engaging, audience-focused programs and resources.
- Experience creating high-quality learning materials for students and teachers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and educators.
- Ability to foster culturally safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environments.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including lesson planning, program coordination across multiple years and long-term scheduling.
- Ability to collect, analyse and apply qualitative and quantitative data to support program evaluation and improvement.
- Current valid, driving licence.

Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a Working with Childrens check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
