Where you'll be working:
The Suicide Prevention and System Improvement team is a multidisciplinary team within Hunter New England Mental Health Services, based in Hamilton. The team leads a range of suicide prevention and system improvement initiatives across the district, working collaboratively to strengthen services and improve outcomes for our communities.

You’ll join a team that values learning, collaboration and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on embedding these principles into everyday practice.

About the role:
As the Project Support Officer, you’ll provide high-level administrative and project support to the Manager – Suicide Prevention and System Improvement and the broader program team. You’ll contribute to a number of district-wide suicide prevention and system improvement initiatives, helping coordinate the people, information and practical requirements that keep this important work moving forward.

This is a varied role where no two days will necessarily look the same. Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinating meetings, bookings and calendars, including preparing agendas and taking minutes for steering committee and program meetings.
Providing logistical support for training sessions, events, functions, focus groups and workshops.
Developing and maintaining rosters across program cost centres, including supporting leave management.
Assisting with data entry, recruitment activities, purchase requisitions, invoices, receipting and record keeping.
Maintaining accurate electronic and general records and documentation.
Building effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders across a diverse range of services and organisations.

You’ll work across multiple initiatives and engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including the Suicide Prevention and System Improvement Program team, HNEMHS executives, government agencies, emergency services, Aboriginal communities, general communities and lived experience networks.

About you:
We’re looking for a motivated, organised and adaptable person who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and is committed to learning and improving the way we work.

You’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities in a busy environment, taking initiative and providing reliable support across multiple projects. As the work of the team focuses on suicide prevention, personal resilience, professionalism and an understanding of the importance of self-care will also be important.

You will bring:

Relevant administrative qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.
The ability to problem solve, use initiative and take appropriate action.
A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
Confidence using a range of computer software, hardware and electronic systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand and respond sensitively to different stakeholder needs.
Eligibility to drive in NSW and a willingness to travel for work purposes.
