Nextt is seeking experienced and reliable
FEMALE Disability Support Workers to provide ongoing support to a female participant living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Due to the intimate personal care requirements of the role and the participant’s preference, this position is open to female applicants only.
This role would suit someone who is confident providing complex personal care, has a positive attitude and enjoys sharing a good sense of humour with the person they support.
About the Role
You will work alongside another Support Worker during scheduled shifts to provide respectful, person-centred care while supporting the participant’s comfort, dignity, independence and daily routine.
Support may include:
- Personal care
- Hoist transfers and manual handling
- Catheter care
- Bowel care
- Skin integrity checks
- Assistance with passive exercises
- Community access using a disability taxi
- Inactive sleepovers, as requested
- Supporting the participant with daily routines and personal goals
Shift Times
Applicants must be available to work
at least one weekend per fortnight.
Week 1:
- Monday: 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Tuesday: 11:30am–1:30pm and 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Wednesday: 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Thursday: 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Friday: 11:30am–1:30pm and 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Saturday: 6:30am–9:00am, 11:30am–1:30pm and 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Sunday: 6:30am–9:00am and 6:30pm–8:30pm
Week 2:
- Monday: 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Tuesday: 11:30am–1:30pm and 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Wednesday: 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Thursday: 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Friday: 6:30am–9:00am and 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Saturday: 6:30am–9:00am, 11:30am–1:30pm and 6:30pm–8:30pm
- Sunday: 6:30am–9:00am, 11:30am–1:30pm and 6:30pm–8:30pm
There may also be opportunities to pick up additional community access, sleepover and relief shifts.
Applicants do not need to be available for every shift. Please clearly outline the days and times you can commit to on an ongoing basis.
Experience supporting someone with Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injury or complex physical support needs will be highly regarded.
Requirements
To be considered, you will need:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- NDIS Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You
- Relevant complex care and manual handling experience
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Reliable transport
Pay Rates
E3.1 (Casual in home and SIL)
SCHADS Award E3.1 Casual Rates (before tax):
- Base hourly rate: $36.81
- Afternoon shift (shift ends between 8pm and midnight, Monday to Friday): $40.49
- Active Night shift (Finishes after midnight or starts before 6am, Monday to Friday) $41.23
- Saturday: $51.54
- Sunday: $66.26
- Public holiday: $80.99
