PW4 $70,975 - $77,063 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).

The Faculty of Health Science, Community & Social Studies provides a progressive and innovative teaching environment with strong industry connections across nursing, dental, allied health, aged care, disability and community services. The faculty is home to Holmesglen's world-class simulation facilities, recognised nationally and internationally for excellence in simulation-based education.
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to support the delivery of practical nursing education within our clinical teaching laboratories. Working closely with the Laboratory Coordinator, educators and students, you will play a key role in ensuring laboratories are prepared, maintained and equipped to support high-quality learning experiences.
This hands-on role combines laboratory operations, technical support, inventory management and safety compliance, helping create an engaging and professional learning environment for future healthcare workers
As a Clinical Laboratory Assistant, you will:

Set up and pack down nursing clinical laboratories to support practical teaching activities.

Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, materials and consumables for classes and simulation activities.

Monitor stock levels, order supplies and maintain accurate inventory records.

Provide technical support to staff and students during practical learning activities.

Maintain safe, clean and compliant laboratory environments, including equipment maintenance, waste management and sustainability initiatives
To be successful, you’ll have:

Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) or another relevant qualification, with experience working in a clinical, healthcare, simulation or laboratory environment.

Hands-on experience preparing and maintaining clinical equipment, resources and teaching spaces.

Strong understanding of infection control, workplace safety and clinical compliance requirements.

Proven stock control and inventory management skills, including ordering and maintaining accurate records.

Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to supporting staff and students.

A proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving, continuous improvement and service excellence.
WWCC and Police Check:
Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
