McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Engineering & Projects team, based in Adelaide.

This is a key role within the Precontracts team, responsible for delivering medium to large scale, multi-discipline tenders and supporting the successful conversion of opportunities into project wins.

You will contribute to a strong and diverse pipeline of work across sectors including Water, Defence, Resources, Industrial and Energy, showcasing the breadth and technical capability of our E&P team.

About the Role

This role offers variety and flexibility, with responsibility for leading estimating activities across a range of complex projects. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to develop high quality submissions, robust cost estimates and practical construction methodologies.

What You’ll Do

Lead the preparation and delivery of detailed cost estimates
Review and develop estimates using first principles and subcontractor inputs
Manage tender submissions including EOIs and post tender activities
Coordinate estimators, engineers and submissions teams
Develop construction methodologies, programs and cost strategies
Identify and manage commercial and technical risks and opportunities
Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
Support negotiations and project handover activities

What You’ll Bring

7–10+ years’ experience in construction estimating
Experience delivering medium to large, multi-discipline tenders
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost structures
Proven ability to manage stakeholders and contribute to team outcomes
Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or similar (desirable)

Strong understanding of D&C, ECI and construct-only delivery models
