About the role

We are actively seeking an experienced Shotfirer to work a 7/7 day shift only roster (12hr days), based at our Jellinbah site. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will join our established team and act as a senior member.

This role would suit someone that is eager to upskill as a multi-skilled Shotfirer/MPU Operator or develop as an on-site Trainer Assessor!

Core accountabilities include:

Safe and efficient surface shotfiring operations
Carry out pre-starts
Regularly carry out workplace Take 5’s
Attend toolbox discussions
Contribute to a respectful and inclusive work environment

About you

Experience in shotfiring operations in an open cut environment essential
Demonstrated experience working in the drill & blast industry
Experience using both Non-Electric and Electronic Blasting Systems (desirable)
Unwavering commitment to safety and efficiency
Ability to work well within a team and unsupervised
Good communication and interpersonal skills

What you need

Current HR licence highly desired - open manual's licence essential
Current QLD Shotfirer’s ticket highly desired
QLD Security Clearance for handling explosives (or willing to obtain)
Current QLD Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
Standard 11 (or willing to obtain)
National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
Relevant RII competencies (RIIBLA201A & RIIBLA203A) highly regarded

As this is a residential role, you will need to be located within a 60-minute drive of the New Acland Coal mine site.
