Siemens Smart Infrastructure is shaping the future of buildings by combining digital technologies, automation, and energy management to make environments smarter, safer, and more sustainable. Our Building Technologies business delivers integrated building automation, HVAC, fire, security, and energy solutions across a wide range of customer sites.
We currently have an opportunity for a Service Team Leader to join our New South Wales Service team. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical expertise with people leadership to support the successful delivery of service outcomes across Sydney and regional NSW.
The NSW Service team plays a critical role in Siemens' overall service offering. Reporting to the NSW Service Manager, you will lead a team of Service Technicians while continuing to provide technical support across preventative maintenance, reactive service, system optimisation, minor upgrades, and small works. You will mentor your team, support operational performance, and work closely with customers to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality service solutions.
This role is ideal for an experienced building automation or HVAC controls professional looking to take the next step into leadership while remaining technically engaged.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Service Technicians to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
Providing technical leadership and support across preventative maintenance, reactive service, fault finding and system optimisation.
Assisting with complex troubleshooting, commissioning activities and technical escalations across Siemens and third-party Building Automation Systems.
Coordinating daily service delivery, resource planning and customer priorities to ensure contractual commitments are achieved.
Supporting a strong safety culture through compliance with Siemens and customer OH&S requirements, risk assessments and safe work practices.
Building trusted relationships with customers, identifying opportunities to improve system performance and supporting future service and upgrade opportunities.
Providing technical input into quotations, planning, service delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensuring accurate service documentation, reporting and compliance with Siemens quality standards.
Supporting the development of team capability through coaching, mentoring and sharing technical knowledge.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience within building automation, HVAC controls or building services.
Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising technical teams, or the desire and capability to step into a leadership role.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across building automation and control systems.
A customer-focused approach with the ability to build long-term relationships.
Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
A practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong organisational skills.
A current NSW Electrical Licence (or equivalent where applicable).
A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
Desirable skills and experience:
Experience with Siemens Desigo Building Automation Systems or similar platforms.
Knowledge of control networks including BACnet, Modbus and IP-based systems.
Experience with PLCs, building controls software and system commissioning.
Exposure to energy optimisation and smart building technologies.
Experience supporting minor works and small project delivery.
Confidence using mobile service applications, service management systems and Microsoft Office.
Understanding of cyber security and operational technology (OT) best practice within building systems.
At Siemens, we're looking for a leader who enjoys developing people just as much as solving technical challenges. You'll combine strong technical capability with a collaborative leadership style, helping your team succeed while building lasting customer relationships.
In return, Siemens offers excellent career development opportunities, exposure to industry-leading technologies, and the opportunity to lead a high-performing technical team delivering innovative smart building solutions across New South Wales.
If you're ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
