We are seeking an experienced and passionate Principal Safety professional to join the Technical HSS team and support the Project HSS function.
In this role, you will provide technical safety expertise, strategic guidance and practical support to drive safety improvement initiatives across the Projects portfolio. Working collaboratively with Project HSS professionals, project leaders and key stakeholders, you will help design, implement and embed sustainable safety improvements that deliver meaningful business outcomes.
You will be a trusted partner who can influence across diverse stakeholder groups, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the successful delivery of change initiatives that strengthen safety performance and organisational capability.
You are a collaborative, action-oriented safety professional who enjoys working with others to achieve tangible outcomes. You are comfortable operating in complex environments, building relationships across multiple levels of the organisation and influencing change through expertise, credibility and engagement.

- Provide technical safety expertise and support to the Project HSS function.
- Drive the delivery and embedding of strategic HSS initiatives and improvement programs.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, improve and strengthen safety systems, processes and practices.
- Support Project HSS teams to manage risk effectively and achieve compliance obligations.
- Build strong partnerships across Projects and functional teams to enable successful outcomes.
- Analyse trends and insights to recommend targeted safety improvement opportunities.
- Influence and support organisational change initiatives that improve safety performance and capability.
- Coach and mentor HSS practitioners and project stakeholders to strengthen risk management and safety leadership capability.
This is a 12-month secondment / fixed term role and applications are open until Tue, 21 July 2026.
