Role Purpose
Sealed Air Australia is looking for an Application Developement Engineer! This role will contribute to the ongoing growth of the Material & Equipment portfolios by ensuring our offer is maintained, developed and promoted.
Primary focus is fourfold:
To support business development by managing the professional implementation of New Products and existing products across customer applications by conducting trials through the Design, Validation, Plan and Report (DVP&R) process.
To act as a technical resource for the Sales team to problem solve materials across customer Applications.
To manage a consistent customer Audit process and the capture of data for customer feedback and measurement and reporting of industry best practice KPIs.
To provide Training of Sales force and customers in the correct use of materials to optimize operational efficiency and product presentation.
Some cross-functionality with other product line specialists is required to provide complete and varied packaging proposals as required.

What You'll Do
Conduct and/or supervise customer on site trials to ensure positive outcomes
Own and drive the use of the DVP&R process and ensure customer Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements are understood and met
Conduct customer training on Sealed Air materials and their interaction with packaging equipment
Provide accurate and timely reports on projects, applicatoin trials, packaging materials and systems
Liaise with Sales, Marketing, Portfolio and Equipment groups as well as equipment suppliers to complete applications and development projects. Provide technical advice and support to equipment suppliers to optimize Sealed Air product performance
Assist Market Managers & Portfolio Manager to train Sealed Air Personnel and customers on all aspects of the Sealed Air's product offer to protect and grow Sealed Air Market share.
Develop relationships with Sealed Air customers at all levels, Management, Maintenance, Production, QA etc
Technical Development - keep abreast of emerging and current technical development -i.e. competitors offer new equipment development and communicate within Sealed Air.
Become familiar with other Portfolio products and look for opportunities for adoption to protect share - i.e Thermoform as an alternative to shrink.
Identify opportunities for DMC reduction, margin improvement actions.
Gather and share Competitive Intelligence (Market, Customer and Competitor)
Sample Management and control - manage and vet sample requests to ensure fit for us materials for each market/application
Rationalization and/or materials optimization in conjunction with Portfolio Manager
Ensure New Product Introduction Process is defined and followed.

Q Fever Immunization will be required in this role to enable access to Fresh red meat processing plants and ensure the health and safety of Sealed Air employee.
