About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and proactive Personal Assistant or Senior Administrator to provide high-level administrative support to the General Manager and Head of Orthopaedic Surgery within a busy and dynamic Orthopaedic Unit.
This is a trusted role that requires exceptional organisational skills, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Working closely with senior leadership, you will coordinate complex diaries and meetings, prepare high-quality correspondence and documentation, manage confidential information, and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Unit.
As a key member of the team, you will build strong relationships with clinicians, managers and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be someone who enjoys taking ownership, anticipates the needs of others, and can work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, contribute to the efficient delivery of Orthopaedic Services, and play an important part in supporting strategic priorities and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a senior administrative or Personal Assistant role, supporting managers or senior leaders within a complex environment. You will be an adaptable and highly organised professional with excellent communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional customer service.
Classifications for this position will range from HS3 - HS25 ($74,448.40 - $82,305.60 per annum).
Your Contribution
Demonstrated experience (minimum 3 years preferred) in a senior administrative, Personal Assistant or executive support role.
Experience supporting senior managers, directors, department heads or senior clinicians.
Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities with
Advanced Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills.
Medical/healthcare background preferred
Current National Criminal History Check or willing to obtain

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, surgically focused management of patients with muscle, bone, and joint disease. The Department has long been considered as one of the leaders in academic Orthopaedic and Sarcoma Surgery in Australia. The Department of Orthopaedics is accredited by AOA as a training hospital. The Department is engaged in research of international recognition and is affiliated with the University of Melbourne.
