The Capability Design Lead defines the strategy, architecture, and operating model for scalable AIOps, establishing standards across observability, data, automation, and AI-driven network operations while aligning initiatives to business value.
This role partners with Architecture, OSS, and Domain teams to ensure cohesive integration, prioritised use cases, and the successful delivery and long-term sustainability of AIOps capabilities at scale.
Your day to day will consist of
Define and evolve the AIOps capability architecture, operating model, and blueprint across observability, data, automation, control loops, and AI-driven network operations.
Lead capability maturity assessments, establish target-state roadmaps, and drive continuous improvement aligned to business and technology strategy.
Conduct gap analyses across tools, data, and operational processes, translating findings into prioritised remediation and delivery plans.
Develop and govern AIOps use case prioritisation frameworks and roadmaps, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable value in reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.
Establish enterprise standards and governance for telemetry, data quality, automation, AI integration, and interoperability across OSS/BSS and network platforms.
Collaborate with Architecture, Operations, Engineering, OSS, and Digital teams to define integration requirements, validate use cases, and ensure scalable capability delivery.
Influence senior stakeholders, manage strategic vendor and industry relationships, and champion AIOps innovation, knowledge sharing, and organisational adoption.
What makes you perfect for the role
Extensive experience in network operations, OSS/BSS, platform engineering, or telecommunications technology strategy, with a strong understanding of AIOps, observability, and automation.
Demonstrated experience designing and articulating complex capability architectures, operating models, and technology blueprints in large-scale enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of AI/ML integration patterns, telemetry frameworks, data pipelines, and automation design principles applicable to network operations.
Proven ability to lead capability gap assessments, define use case roadmaps, and align cross-functional teams to a shared target state.
Experienced in establishing technical standards and governance frameworks that enable scalable, consistent delivery across distributed teams and platforms.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear strategic direction for senior audiences.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capability, with experience using data and maturity frameworks to drive evidence-based design decisions.
