Consultant – Data & Analytics

Synogize is looking for a client-focused Data & Analytics Consultant to join our growing team in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a broad consulting role for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, understanding their challenges and delivering practical data solutions that create measurable business value.
You will work across projects involving data modelling, analytics engineering, business intelligence, cloud data platforms and emerging AI-enabled solutions. Depending on the engagement, you may contribute to requirements gathering, solution design, data transformation, reporting, governance, testing and stakeholder engagement.
Applicants must have unrestricted working rights in Australia and at least three years of relevant Data & Analytics experience.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Success and Consulting

Build trusted relationships with clients and act as a reliable partner throughout project delivery.
- Understand client objectives, business processes and challenges before recommending technical solutions.
- Translate business requirements into clear and achievable data and analytics outcomes.
- Proactively communicate progress, risks, dependencies and decisions.
- Support solution adoption by ensuring outputs are useful, understandable and aligned with customer needs.
- Identify opportunities to create additional value through data, analytics, automation and AI.
Data and Analytics Delivery

Design, build and maintain scalable data models for reporting, analytics and operational use cases.
- Develop and support ETL and ELT pipelines that transform raw data into trusted and usable datasets.
- Use SQL-based transformation tools, such as dbt or Coalesce, to develop structured analytics layers.
- Build analytics and business intelligence solutions using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
- Work with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery.
- Implement data quality checks, testing, documentation and governance practices.
- Improve the performance, reliability and scalability of data solutions.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders.
AI and Emerging Technologies

Where relevant, contribute to AI-enabled analytics, automation and decision-support solutions.
- Explore how generative AI, machine learning and intelligent automation can improve customer outcomes.
- Support the responsible use of AI by considering data quality, governance, privacy, security and explainability.
- Stay informed about emerging tools and help assess their practical value for clients.
Required Skills and Experience

At least three years of relevant professional experience in Data & Analytics.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex data transformations.
- Experience designing analytical or dimensional data models.
- A strong understanding of ETL and ELT concepts.
- Experience with at least one cloud data platform, such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery.
- Experience with at least one business intelligence platform, such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence working directly with clients and translating business needs into technical solutions.
