Ready to get off the tools or take the next step in your building career? Lead high-quality residential builds with an exceptional local team.
G.J. Gardner Homes Ararat is a proudly local family business backed by the strength, reputation, and industry-leading systems of Australia’s most trusted building brand. We are deeply embedded in our local community, building mainly premium single-storey dwellings - including beautiful custom homes on acreage - tailored for second and third home buyers who value quality workmanship.
We are entering an exciting period of structured growth with strong pipeline visibility. To drive this momentum, we are seeking a detail-oriented, process-driven Construction Supervisor to oversee our builds across Ararat, Horsham, Hamilton, and surrounding areas.
Whether you are an established Construction Supervisor looking for a tighter family-first culture, a local custom builder ready to step off the tools, or a skilled local carpenter looking to advance into management, we will provide the training and support you need to succeed.
Fully Equipped Mobile Office: Hit the road fully set up for success with a company vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone, and iPad supplied.
Direct Owner Mentorship & Support: Work hand-in-hand with the Franchise Owner acting as your Construction Manager, giving you unparalleled day-to-day guidance and local operational support.
Great Work-Life Balance: Enjoy standard full-time site and office hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. No weekends!
Driven & Social Team Culture: Join a motivated, professional team that works hard to hit collective goals but also genuinely enjoys winding down and socialising together outside of work.
Regular Career Training: Expand your skills continuously with comprehensive, ongoing training on G.J. Gardner’s world-class digital management platforms and construction scheduling systems.
Stable Regional Pipeline: Take pride in supervising quality regional projects for established second and third home buyers rather than low-margin, high-stress volume housing.
Site Supervision & Quality Control: Manage construction projects simultaneously across the Ararat, Horsham, and Hamilton regions from slab to handover.
Subcontractor Coordination: Maintain excellent communication to schedule and oversee local trades, ensuring all work meets our strict standards of quality and timeline execution.
Process-Driven Workflow: Strictly implement and follow our established building processes and scheduling systems to keep projects moving smoothly and on budget.
WHS & Compliance: Enforce exceptional safety practices on-site, ensuring absolute compliance with current occupational health and safety standards.
Client Handover Excellence: Keep our clients informed and supported throughout the build journey, walking them through progress inspections with absolute transparency.
Proven Construction Background: Demonstrated experience within the residential building industry. A trade qualification (such as Carpentry) or prior supervisory experience is required.
Process-Driven Mindset: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without letting structural details or project timelines slip.
Strong Communication Skills: The natural ability to build rapport and clearly convey expectations to a diverse group of stakeholders, including clients, council authorities, and local subcontractors.
Accountability & Drive: A motivated, proactive professional who takes absolute pride in their work and thrives in a team-oriented, goal-driven environment.
Essentials: A current Australian Driver’s Licence, white card, and general computer literacy to operate digital scheduling tools.
We offer the best of both worlds: the career stability, regular training, and advanced software of a leading national building company, paired with the personal, supportive atmosphere of a local family business. We are heavily invested in the success of our people and our local communities.
