As a Director Financial Institutions Group Credit, you will be a key person in 2nd line credit for the Financial Institutions Group in Institutional Banking. This will involve:
Ensuring appropriate management of credit risk at counterparty level across a large portfolio including customers from the global Banks and Australia NBFI portfolios.
Review and challenge of ANZ’s stated Risk Appetite for the global Banks portfolio, incorporating your deep knowledge of current events and emerging risks.
Delivering training and support to team members across Risk, Relationship Management and Product areas regarding changes to business activities and / or specific projects and initiatives that impact the Banks or NBFI portfolio.
Application of expertise regarding regulatory requirements pertaining to the management of the Banks portfolio to support the implementation of regulatory changes, ensure accurate reporting and responding to regulator enquiries

As a Director – Financial Institutions Group Credit, you will be accountable for:
Credit approvals – Direct accountability for approval of credit limits for a portfolio of Bank and NBFI customers of ANZ. Ensure approvals are in line with appetite and policies, with risks being identified, understood, managed, reported and reviewed as required.
Leadership & strategy – Key Risk representative in setting the stated risk appetite for the Banks portfolio, in line with ANZ Financial Institutions Group growth strategy. Inspire a team of professionals, fostering a high-performance and risk-aware culture
Regulatory management – Advising on regulatory change and emerging regulatory issues impacting the Banks portfolio. Assisting 1st line and other 2nd line teams responding to regulatory changes or enquiries.
Providing insights – Articulation of insights and opinions on existing and emerging credit risks, and assisting in preparation of relevant presentations and briefing notes for reporting to committees/ forums as appropriate
Subject matter expertise – Acting as subject matter expert on policies relevant to the Banks portfolio, including being the first point of contact for Relationship Managers and Markets teams for such advice
The role is also accountable for promoting a strong risk and compliance culture throughout the Financial Institutions business unit, and working with the team to build strong, open and transparent relationships with all key stakeholders. What will you bring?
Detailed understanding of credit risk management
Strong understanding of Lending, Trade and Markets products
Current knowledge of key issues facing global banking sector, including regulatory, competitive and geopolitical issues.
People leadership capabilities including coaching and influencing skills.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
15+ years’ experience in Banking/ Financial Services in a role with exposure to Credit management (desirable)
