Full Job Description

Are you a master of Java who lives for speed, scale, and system elegance? Do milliseconds matter to you? Are you itching to build something from scratch, challenge the limits of what's possible, and leave your mark on the trading world? My client, a Global Investment bank, is building a next-gen electronic trading system from the ground up, and is looking for a small number of Senior Java Engineers who are passionate about crafting blazing-fast, low-latency architectures and who thrive on solving real-world engineering puzzles.

This is not your average role. This is a greenfield programme of work, following the fabled, Josh Levine "Sequencer" architecture. This is your chance to build the brain and nervous system of a global equities trading platform!

ðŸ’¡ What You’ll Do:

Architect and build the foundational framework powering this new trading ecosystem.
Design, code, and own components like:
- Smart Order Routers
- Matching Engines
- Real-Time Risk Engines
- Automated Trading Strategies
Dive deep into Java, squeeze out latency, and think in nanoseconds.
Lead design discussions, write clean test-driven code, and collaborate with brilliant minds.
Work with cloud tech like AWS (bonus points if you're already cloud-savvy).
Be on the frontlines of innovation — and back it up with production-level reliability.

A creative engineering mindset and a passion for low-level, high-performance design.
10+ years of hands-on Java wizardry, ideally within real-time trading environments.
Mastery of concurrency, memory management, and low/no GC strategies.
The confidence to build mission-critical systems and the curiosity to explore new ideas.
Great communication skills and a genuine drive to collaborate across teams.
