Position Summary/Objectives of Incumbent:
The Power Customer Engineer (Technician) – Commissioning is a critical technical role within the Global Service – APAC ANZ division, you will be responsible for the end-to-end commissioning of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and Static Transfer Switch (STS) units. This role is at the forefront of delivering high-quality commissioning services across large-scale, mission-critical environments, including Tier 1 Data Centres.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Reporting:
- Time Sheets - Digital reporting tool to be used to accurately record hours worked each day.
- Commissioning/Service Reports - to be completed within set timeframes
- Proactively communicate project progress and any site issues to the Project Manager & Service Operations Manager.
Operational Delivery:
- Own the commissioning process from start to finish - You'll lead the full commissioning cycle across Vertiv's complete range of UPS & STS units, delivering critical infrastructure that keeps the world's most important facilities running.
- Work on landmark projects - Carry out L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks alongside experienced Vertiv Project & Commissioning Managers. If you've previously worked on Tier 1 Data Centre sites, you'll feel right at home here.
- Broaden your expertise - This isn't a one-dimensional role. You'll also support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works, giving you exposure across the full asset lifecycle.

Daily Work Duties and expectations:
- Travel to various sites, including remote locations, requiring a valid Driver's Licence.
- Undertake overnight or extended travel as project demands require.
- Safely navigate and work within confined, tight, and restricted spaces.
- Working on and around Energised Electrical equipment, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Undertake manual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and relocating equipment and components in accordance with WHS guidelines.

Education/Qualification:
- Electrical Trade Certificate.
- Formal Electronics Qualification whilst not mandatory, will be highly regarded.
- Mandatory: Relevant State-based Unrestricted Electrical Licence.
Specialist Knowledge:
- Technical knowledge in data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial or similar industries.
Practical Experience:
- Proven track record within the Critical Power Industry as a commissioning/service technician.
- Proven ability to work effectively under timeline constraints on large scale sites.
- Solid understanding of Controls & Networking.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
