Job Description

We are seeking a Team Leader/ Senior Support Worker to oversee the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 SIL house, providing a balance of hands-on participant support and administrative responsibilities.

The Team Leader will lead by example and promote Mimosa Care’s values of compassion, trust, and innovation, while ensuring participant goals, support plans, NDIS requirements, and company policies are followed.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and mentor support workers.
Coordinate daily SIL operations, staffing, and shift coverage.
Promote participant choice, independence, dignity, and community participation.
Maintain positive relationships with participants, families, and stakeholders.
Ensure accurate documentation, progress notes, medication records, and incident reporting.
Monitor participant wellbeing, risks, behaviors, and support needs.
Support Positive Behavior Support and risk management strategies.
Coordinate household activities, appointments, shopping, and community participation.
Ensure compliance with NDIS requirements, legislation, and Mimosa Care policies.
Communicate with management regarding participant, staffing, and operational matters.
Provide direct participant support when required and lead by example.

Essential Requirements

Certificate III/IV in Disability, Individual Support, Mental Health, Community Services, or equivalent.
Experience in disability, SIL, mental health, or community services.
Experience supervising or coordinating staff is highly desirable.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
Current First Aid and CPR.
Strong understanding of person-centred practice, NDIS principles, privacy, and duty of care.
Strong communication, leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Current driver's licence where required.
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and night shifts.
