This particular role sits with Atlas (a Sequana Group Company), our brownfield water and wastewater specialist. Atlas focuses on improving delivery success across the full lifecycle, from condition assessment and optimisation through to renewal and upgrade delivery. Since 2011, their teams have delivered programs 95% on time, 98% on budget, with over $100m in TOTEX savings, by bringing together senior, cross-functional expertise across design, construction, maintenance and delivery management.
Atlas are currently hiring for a Senior Mechanical Designer / Drafter position.

Working as a Senior Mechanical Designer / Drafter position, you will own your discipline's design deliverables on a project. You are the person the engineering team and the project manager rely on for drawing quality, BIM compliance and information integrity across the full design phase. You will actively contribute to that value through the quality of your outputs, the efficiency of your workflows and the way you coordinate with the broader team.

Owning the full drawing deliverable scope on water and wastewater projects; managing drawing registers, revision control, QA processes and client submission packages.
- Coordinating and managing the production of the 3D model and 2D drawing packages; directing drafting staff and sub-contractors to complete documentation to the required standard.
- Preparing and maintaining project-specific Digital Engineering Execution Plans (DEXP) and Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP) and keeping them current at every delivery milestone.
- Attending site to understand site conditions, resolve drawing queries and capture as-built information accurately.
- Performing ACC project audits at each delivery milestone including checking digital data housekeeping, drawing standards compliance and information completeness.
- Using Recap, LiDAR and point cloud data to accurately represent existing asset conditions in design models.
- Reviewing and signing off the work of Designers and Trainee Designers by providing direct, useful feedback and maintaining Atlas quality standards.
- Working with engineers to interpret design intent and translate it accurately into drawing and model deliverables that serve construction teams and asset owners.
- Exporting intelligent data from BIM models to support engineers with quantities, specifications and procurement inputs.
- Producing detailed 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater projects, working to client drawing office procedures, AS1100 and Atlas BIM standards.
- Creating 2D drawings from 3D models and modifying designs to solve problems, working within the constraints of live assets.
WHO YOU ARE
Candidates should possess:
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 7 – 10+ years' experience in Designing (Mechanical).
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- AutoCAD 2D/3D drafting and design experience is essential.
- Good understanding of mechanical and piping fundamentals.
- Site/construction experience essential.
- Can coordinate with other disciplines and has experience working on multidisciplinary projects.
Preferred Qualifications/ experience (not essential):

BIM experience and understanding.
- Water industry experience.
- Plant 3D Experience, including P&IDs and database updates or Revit capability, including laser scanning, point cloud management and modelling.
- Experience with LIDAR is preferred (not essential).
- Basic structural drafting is also preferred (not essential).
