Introduction:
ACEREZ is a consortium, comprised of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy which has been appointed Preferred Network Operator by EnergyCo to design, deliver, operate and maintain the transmission line network for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ).

The new transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

The Opportunity

The HSE Systems & Assurance Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, governance and continual improvement of the Network Operator's Electrical Network Safety Management System and Integrated Business Management System. The role provides assurance that the organisation meets legislative, regulatory and contractual obligations while driving continual improvement across health, safety, environmental, quality and asset management systems.

The position also provides independent assurance of Principal Contractor activities through audits, site observations and reviews of contractor management systems, supporting the Safety Director in maintaining effective governance across construction and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

Management System Governance • Develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve the Electrical Network Safety Management System and Integrated Business Management System. • Ensure system alignment with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 55001 and AS 5577. • Manage document control, system reviews and governance processes.

Assurance and Compliance • Develop and implement the Network Operator HSE assurance programme in line with the Work Health and Safety Management Plan. • Conduct audits and assurance reviews. • Monitor legislative compliance and coordinate external audits. • Maintain compliance registers and monitor corrective actions.

Contractor Assurance • Review Principal Contractor Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plans. • Undertake Principal Contractor site observations and assurance inspections. • Verify contractor compliance with contractual HSE requirements. • Monitor contractor performance against agreed KPIs. • Participate in contractor governance meetings.

Reporting and Performance • Develop HSE performance dashboards. • Prepare monthly internal and external HSE reports. • Analyse leading and lagging indicators. • Report trends and emerging risks.

Skills and Experiences:
Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE management systems and assurance.
Demonstrated experience implementing ISO‑certified management systems.
Detailed understanding of safety, environmental, asset management and quality management standards in accordance with ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO55001 and ISO9001.
Experience developing and maintaining an Electrical Network Safety Management System in accordance with AS5577.
Experience undertaking contractor assurance activities and methodologies for investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Construction Industry White Card.
