Key responsibilities – What you’ll do
- Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and structural engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets;
- Have the opportunity to work on iconic projects within a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver a range of engineering projects.
- Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects.
- Support the wider team and other teams within the company nationally when the opportunity presents.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and be committed to team approach and outcomes.
- Provide ongoing continuous improvement and development inputs to create more efficient workflows within the team.
- Handle ongoing communication and highly effective professional relationships with local clients.
Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can combine technical excellence with client-facing capability, business development skills, and people leadership experience. This role is not purely a technical design position; we are looking for someone who can help grow our business, strengthen client relationships, and support the development of our team.
Experience & Skills
- Bachelor to Masters’ level degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10+ years of structural engineering consultancy experience in Australia within the commercial Property & Buildings market is essential.
- Chartered (CPEng) status, with relevant Australian registration.
- Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence full security clearance is essential – only eligible to Australian Citizens (Permanent Resident, NZ Citizens & Visa holders are not eligible).
- Exposure across a range of local building sectors, e.g., transport, health, retail, defence;
- Strong technical capability in the design and delivery of building projects, supported by advanced knowledge of structural analysis and design software.
- Proven experience leading complex multidisciplinary projects, including responsibility for scope, program, resources, risk, quality, and project financial performance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships, identify opportunities, and generate repeat business.
- Experience preparing and leading proposals, pursuits, and business development activities.
- Strong leadership skills, including mentoring and developing engineers, managing project teams, and contributing to team growth.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and commercial acumen.
