Description:
We bring the energy!
Through purpose and people - not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.
Are you ready to shape the future of energy?
Are you a senior network architect who thrives on designing secure, resilient infrastructure at scale? This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of enterprise and operational networks for a critical energy provider.
We are looking for a Domain Architect – Network, who will lead the architectural direction for AusNet’s network services, ensuring secure, scalable and high-performing connectivity across the organisation.
You’ll translate business and operational requirements into practical network architectures—supporting everything from enterprise and cloud connectivity through to field communications and OT environments.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
Define and maintain target-state network architecture across enterprise, cloud and OT connectivity
Develop and govern architecture standards, patterns and design principles
Provide architectural oversight across key initiatives (network refresh, cloud connectivity, secure access, telecom upgrades)
Partner with cyber, infrastructure and delivery teams to translate requirements into solutions
Identify and mitigate risks across resilience, security, compliance and performance
Review solution designs, guiding connectivity models, segmentation, failover and DR approaches
Drive simplification and optimisation across network technologies and services
You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:
Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in network engineering/architecture with hands-on design capability
Strong expertise across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, remote access and telecommunications
Experience designing secure, resilient enterprise networks, including Zero Trust and segmentation principles
Exposure to hybrid cloud networking (ideally Azure), including connectivity patterns and security design
Ability to engage and influence technical and business stakeholders at all levels
Experience developing architecture artefacts, roadmaps and design standards
Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, Azure Network Engineer, AWS Advanced Networking or TOGAF are highly regarded.
