East Sydney Private Hospital is a modern, boutique surgical hospital located in the heart of Sydney. We specialise in Orthopedic, General/Bariatric, ENT, Plastic & Reconstructive, and Ophthalmic surgery.

Conveniently situated at 75 Crown Street, Woolloomooloo, we pride ourselves on delivering a premium patient experience and a collaborative working environment.

Operating Monday to Friday 6am-8pm

About the Role

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and well-presented Medical Receptionist / Administration Officer to be second in charge to the Administration manager. This front-of-house role requires a bubbly personality, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Warmly greeting patients on admission and ensuring a smooth check-in process
Invoicing, receipting, and handling patient payments
Support the manager in day-to-day responsibilities.
Act as Second-in Charge, providing leadership, operational support and assistance with rostering when the manager is unavailable.
Providing outstanding customer service, including managing patient enquiries via phone and email
Understanding and processing patient billing, including Workers Compensation, Defence, DVA, and private health fund claims
Supporting the Office Manager and administrative team with general reception and office duties
Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional front-of-house environment

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience in a medical administrative or hospital setting, or transferable administration skills that meet the role requirements
Excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
Outstanding customer service and communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage fluctuating workflows
Strong computer proficiency, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and data entry
A positive, enthusiastic attitude and a genuine passion for working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
Professional personal presentation and a respectful, compassionate manner
Strong work ethic, initiative, and a proactive approach
Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, doctors, and hospital staff
