Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Systems & Infrastructure Administrator to join our Technology team. This is a hands-on role responsible for delivering exceptional IT support to staff while administering and maintaining our hybrid Microsoft environment, comprising both on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft 365 cloud services.
The successful candidate will act as a key technical resource for the business, providing end-user support, managing core systems and services, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the organisation's technology environment.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced Systems Administrator who enjoys working closely with users while maintaining and improving the technology platforms that support the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
User Support & Service Delivery
- Provide responsive and professional Level 2 and Level 3 support to employees across the organisation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft 365 issues.
- Support laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, meeting room technology, and collaboration tools.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and escalations through the IT Service Management platform.
- Assist users with onboarding, offboarding, access requests, and day-to-day technology enquiries.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and build positive working relationships across the business.
Microsoft 365 & Systems Administration
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including – Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft Defender
- Manage user accounts, licensing, permissions, security groups, and access controls.
On-Premises Infrastructure Administration
- Administer Windows Server environments and supporting infrastructure.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and print services.
- Support server hardware, storage, backup systems, and disaster recovery processes.
- Monitor system performance, infrastructure health, and service availability.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patch management activities.
Network Administration
- Support LAN, WAN, wireless, internet, and VPN connectivity.
- Troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues.
Security & Compliance
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and endpoint protection management.
- Implement security best practices across cloud and on-premises environments.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to technology improvement initiatives and small infrastructure projects.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a Systems Administration, Infrastructure Administration, or Senior Desktop Support role.
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience.
- Experience administering Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server
- Experience supporting hybrid Microsoft environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across desktop, server, networking, and cloud technologies.
- Experience supporting Windows 11 devices and Microsoft 365 Apps.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender and security administration.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Experience supporting virtualisation platforms.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-104, MD-102, or SC-300.
