Description:
We are looking for applicants with experience & relevant qualifications as an Engineer (Project & Senior Projects Engineers and Quality Engineers) to support one of our projects based in the Surat Basin on a 19:9 roster. Responsibilities include:
Quality Engineer
- Supporting engineering and construction staff to ensure appropriate training and assistance is provided in the preparation and execution of project quality assurance and quality control.
- Coordinate Quality Assurance processes and procedures
- Conducting /witnessing project inspection & testing activities and ensuring adequate controls are in place.
- Ensure appropriate quality records are maintained and reports issued as required.
- Coordinate with other departments on the implementation of identified corrective and preventive actions
- Conducting Material inspections and ensuring that approved processes are followed
- Identifying any deficiency within the system and verifying that corrective action has been taken to eliminate and prevent the recurrence of identified deficiencies.
- Monitoring through inspection and/or surveillance ensures that the quality system is adequately implemented.
- Compiling documentation for MDR
- Maintaining all inspection records and following up with the implementation of action identified during inspections.
- Reviewing welding records and site completed FIC’s for compliance
- Preparing ‘Quality Packs’ and issuing them to field engineers and field crews for completion during construction
- Participating in Quality Audits
- Ensuring that Quality Objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are achieved
- Performing scheduled quality inspections and coordinating with construction crews and client representatives for attendance
Project Engineer
- Implementing and maintaining construction planning processes which include MSP schedule and construction trackers.
- Reviewing processes with key stakeholders, identifying issues, and introducing ways to improve standards on an ongoing basis.
- Interpretation of plans, specifications, and schedules ensuring all construction activities meet or exceed company, project specific and Australian standard requirements across the work scope.
- Carry out complete reviews of IFC drawings, specifications, and schedules issued to construction prior to instructing site engineers to incorporate information into the delivery of assigned work packages.
- Identify any issues or concerns from the review of same documentation and raise with the Client and Senior Project Engineer.
- Creation, operation, and implementation of schedules for new packages ensuring detailed tracking of all activities against baseline schedule while ensuring accurate record keeping of any slippages (SIMOPS with other stakeholders to be taken into account).
- Investigate and close out safety, quality, and environmental issues that arise on site with support from relevant departments.
- Completion of cost forecasts for scope assigned and monitoring of expenditure weekly.
- Completion of bid analysis for procurement of subcontracts and materials.
- Identify quality, safety and environmental hazards that may arise during the fabrication, installation, and use of temporary works, or during execution of construction methods and communicate these to affected project staff.
Senior Project Engineer:
Lead the site engineering team and delivery of assigned work packages from design and procurement through construction, testing, completion and handover.
Manage construction planning and scheduling, including MSP programmes, construction trackers, look-ahead schedules and progress monitoring against project baselines.
Lead the review of IFC drawings, specifications, scopes of work and other technical documentation to confirm constructability, compliance and readiness for construction.
Identify engineering, constructability and interface issues and coordinate their resolution with the Client, design consultants, construction teams and relevant project stakeholders.
Manage technical queries, design changes and engineering interfaces throughout construction, ensuring changes are appropriately assessed, documented and communicated.
Coordinate procurement activities for assigned packages, including preparation and review of scopes, technical evaluations, bid analysis and management of subcontractor and supplier interfaces.
Monitor package costs, commitments and forecasts, identify potential cost and schedule impacts, and support the management of variations and commercial matters.
Lead coordination of SIMOPS and interfaces with other contractors, stakeholders and operational activities to minimise impacts to project delivery.
Work closely with Construction, Quality, HSE and Survey teams to resolve issues and ensure project requirements are achieved.
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, including safety, quality, environmental, engineering, schedule and constructability risks.
Investigate and drive the close-out of technical, safety, quality and environmental issues arising during project execution.
Monitor construction progress and proactively identify constraints, delays and emerging risks, developing and implementing mitigation and recovery actions where required.
Provide technical guidance, leadership and mentoring to Project Engineers, Field Engineers and other members of the project team.
Maintain effective relationships with the Client and key stakeholders and represent the project in engineering, construction, planning and progress meetings as required.
Drive assigned work packages through completion, including testing, punch-list close-out, quality documentation, as-built information and final handover.

About You

Successful applications will have:
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Experience working in the construction, oil and gas or civil industry
- High level oral and written communication skills and numeracy skills.
- Sound administration skills with the ability to use computers to assist with work including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Ability to provide technical advice and solve onsite queries as they occur.
- Ability to monitor and interpret technical designs and drawings and ensuring they are applied correctly in the field.
- Demonstrated experience to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Construction management skills.
