About the role
As the Centre Coordinator – Kardinia Aquatic Centre, you will play a key role in coordinating the day to day operations of the Centre, supporting staff and ensuring a clean, safe and customer friendly environment. Working closely with the Centre Manager, you will oversee reception, customer service, aquatic programs, facility presentation and plant operations, while supporting staff development, compliance and continuous improvement. This is a hands on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy aquatic environment and making a positive difference to the customer experience.

Work type: Fixed Term until 31 March 2026.
Classification: Band 5 $83,436 pa plus super

Key responsibilities include:

Coordinate the day to day operations of Kardinia Aquatic Centre, ensuring high standards of safety, service and presentation.
Lead and support staff across reception, customer service, sales and aquatic program activities.
Oversee aquatic facility, plant and operational activities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
Support employee development, performance, training and supervision.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, user groups, contractors, community groups and local businesses.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve customer service, operational practices, programs and Centre performance.

About you
To be successful in this role, you are an experienced leisure or aquatic professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering safe, welcoming and customer focused facilities. You bring sound knowledge of aquatic programs, pool plant operations and centre operations, along with the ability to lead and support staff in a busy environment. You are confident making daily decisions, managing competing priorities and building positive relationships with customers, user groups and the broader community. Your strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills will enable you to contribute to the successful operation of Kardinia Aquatic Centre.

Essential Experience:

Tertiary qualification relevant to recreation program management or several years’ experience in a related field.
Provide First Aid Certificate.
Current Working with Children’s Check.
Pool Lifeguard Award.
Pool Operators Certificate.
Current Victorian driver’s licence.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
