Provides efficient administrative and clerical support within the Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIPU). Supports clinical staff, patients, and families by ensuring smooth ward operations, accurate documentation, and effective communication.

Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital, Mental Health Inpatient Unit.

What you'll be doing
Provide high-quality administrative and clerical support to the MHIPU clinical team.
Manage patient records, admissions, discharges, appointments, correspondence and ward documentation.
Support day-to-day ward operations and ensure accurate and timely data entry.
Liaise with patients, families, clinical staff and other hospital departments in a professional and compassionate manner.
Assist with rostering, meetings, reporting and general administrative tasks to support the smooth functioning of the unit.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

How would you manage competing priorities and urgent requests within a busy mental health ward?
Describe your experience with patient records, data entry, medical documentation and maintaining confidentiality.
How would you communicate effectively with patients, families, clinicians and other healthcare professionals?
Tell us about a time you had to deal with a challenging or distressed person. How did you respond?
What strategies do you use to ensure accuracy when entering patient information and completing administrative tasks?
Describe a time when you identified an administrative issue or process that needed improvement. What action did you take?
