Design & Engineering
CPP has the largest in-house design and engineering team of any contractor in Australia, with over 170 specialists across Electrical Primary and Secondary, Civil, Structural, and SCADA disciplines. We provide end-to-end engineering solutions for high-voltage infrastructure, including nationally significant transmission projects, HV substations, wind farms and battery storage systems that drive Australia’s renewable energy transition.

The Opportunity
We're seeking a Designer – Primary to play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-voltage substation and renewable energy projects across Australia.
Working within our Electrical Primary Design team, you'll develop detailed primary design drawings and models for substations and high-voltage infrastructure. Collaborating closely with engineers and project teams, you'll transform engineering concepts into high-quality design documentation suitable for construction while ensuring compliance with client requirements, Australian Standards and industry best practice.
This is an opportunity to work on some of Australia's most significant energy infrastructure projects while being part of one of the country's largest specialist high-voltage engineering teams.
Skills and Experiences:
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Demonstrated experience in Electrical Primary Design within high-voltage substations, transmission or power infrastructure.
Proficiency using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD for primary design and drafting.
Sound understanding of substation layouts, plant arrangements and high-voltage primary equipment.
Knowledge of Australian Standards, electrical utility requirements and relevant design practices.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate documentation within project timeframes.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers and project stakeholders
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Design or equivalent qualification (desirable)
