The Role
As Data & Analytics Team Lead, you will lead the delivery and evolution of Covalent's Digital Data Platform (DDP), ensuring reliable, scalable and secure data and reporting services are available across the business.
You will manage a small team of data professionals, oversee the analytics roadmap and demand pipeline, and drive the delivery of data products and services that support operational excellence, business performance and informed decision-making.
Working closely with operational, corporate and technology stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to improve outcomes through data, translate business needs into practical analytics solutions, and help build a stronger data-driven culture across the organisation. The role combines people leadership, platform ownership, stakeholder engagement and analytics delivery, supported by modern Microsoft Azure technologies and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
This is a full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to be based from either our Perth CBD or Kwinana office
Key Responsibilities
- Work on multiple cross-functional work initiatives and projects as guided by the Superintendent Applications Architecture and Data.
- Active participation in ITSM processes.
- Assist with the development and implementation of data strategies.
- Identification and analysis of business data and reporting requirements.
- Engage with users and stakeholders to determine data and reporting needs.
- Maintain and improve data, integration, analysis and reporting services.
- Drive mature process and documentation practices within team.
- Assist to build secure, scalable and performant data analytics solutions within the DDP.
- Work with Architects, Data Engineers and Project Managers within a project setup to design, develop and implement data services.
- Act as an escalation point for queries and more complex calls.
- Other duties as and when required by Superintendent Applications Architecture and Data.
Financial/Budget
- Manage relevant budget and expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with budget and expenditure protocols and procedures.
- Create purchase requisitions and review invoices against scope of work.
Leadership and Team

Role Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, or related experience
- Exposure to the Oil and Gas, Mining and Infrastructure industries preferred.
- Good understanding of Data Warehousing/ETL concepts.
- Experience with data integration and ingestion
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps/GIT
- Extensive Experience with Azure Data Factory, T-SQL and Python
- Experience with owning and managing a data platform with data and reporting services.
- Demonstrated experience in an ITSM role, with a customer service focus.
- ITIL v4 Certification (desirable)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (desirable)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (desirable)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (desirable)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer - Associate (desirable)
