What will you be doing?
As Consulting Systems Engineer/Architect, you will be at the forefront of providing exceptional technical support to our Australian clients, ensuring they receive tailored solutions that meet and exceed their requirements. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting WWT's largest Enterprise customers across Australia and New Zealand.
Essential Functions:
Engage in Technical Pre-Sales Engineering: Leverage your technical expertise to understand client challenges and position solutions that not only meet but surpass customer requirements, with a focus on AI/High Performance Networking technologies.
Deep Client Understanding: Work closely with clients and the WWT Sales team to gain a profound understanding of customer technical priorities, challenges, and initiatives that can be translated into tailored IT infra solutions.
Deliver High-Quality Pre-Sales Solutions: Take responsibility for the development and quality of pre-sales technology solution deliverables across AI / High Performance Networking domains
Requirements and Scoping Workshops: Actively participate in requirements and scoping workshops with customers, delivery partners, and Sales. Advise customers on network architecture considerations for AI / HPC
Build Relationships: Develop and foster strong relationships with strategic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs, e.g., NVIDIA, Cisco, Arista) and key services partners local to your region and territory.
Trusted Advisor: Act as a trusted advisor for the customer Engineering team, offering guidance on architecture, Assess data center feasibility including power, cooling, cabling and DC layout for AI/HPC clusters
Strong Client Relationships: Develop and maintain robust relationships with customer technical management and teams.
- Identifies services opportunities and works with team to propose solutions and engagements across the WWT portfolio.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
10-15 years of industry experience in technology integrators, technology OEMs or client-side senior roles. Architectural and technical experience with Compute, Storage, Infrastructure, Data Center, and End User Experience solutions. Good understanding of current trends and migration strategies. Deep Skills and Knowledge as a Subject Matter Expert in AI infra domains
Professional or expert level Industry Certifications such as CCDE, CCIE, CISSP, MCSE, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. Experience in consulting with Fortune 500 IT leadership on deployment of technology solutions. Ideally working with clients in a digital transformation and operating model design and deployment. Architectural training and/or experience in common methodologies including TOGAF, UAM, etc.
Familiarity with Big Data, AI, automation, end user experience and service management technologies along with cloud technologies including containers, Kubernetes, cloud-native services, storage, networking, and commercial models at a high level.
Strong presentation skills and understanding of business impact of technology decisions. Motivated to win in selling situations by solving client issues. Passion for learning, with focus on constant expansion of technical knowledge.
Experience/Background Desired:
Strong networking knowledge, especially NVIDIA and Cisco AI / HPC Networking
Solid understanding of AI high-performance networking, and experience in designing networks that support >1000 GPUs
High-level understanding of data center fit-out, including cabling
HPC experience is a plus
5+ years of experience in engineering and Solution Architecture in Enterprise domains.
