Security Engineering Senior Engineer – Application Security Automation & AI Security
Job Summary
As a Security Engineering Senior Engineer – Application Security Automation & AI Security, you will drive the evolution of secure software delivery through automation, AI-enabled security capabilities, and developer-centric security solutions.
You will partner with engineering, platform, and cyber security teams to design, build, and operationalise security automation that improves efficiency, reduces risk, and enables secure adoption of AI technologies across the organisation.
The role combines Application Security, DevSecOps, Security Automation, AI Security, and Software Engineering disciplines to deliver scalable security outcomes while improving developer experience and accelerating security controls adoption.

What You’ll Do
Application Security Automation
Design and develop security automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve the scalability of security services.
Build APIs, workflow integrations, self-service onboarding capabilities, and orchestration frameworks across security platforms.
Automate security controls within CI/CD pipelines, including SAST, SCA, container scanning, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
Develop reusable automation patterns, infrastructure-as-code modules, and policy-as-code frameworks.
Create integrations between security platforms, developer tooling, cloud services, and governance systems.
Drive shift-left security adoption by embedding security controls into software development workflows.
AI Security Engineering
Research, evaluate, and implement AI security controls, tooling, and best practices.
Assess risks associated with AI systems including LLMs, GenAI applications, AI agents, and machine learning platforms.
Develop security guardrails for AI solutions, focusing on areas such as:
Prompt injection protection
Data leakage prevention
Model misuse detection
Secure AI development practices
AI governance and compliance
Support AI security capability assessments, proofs of concept, and technology evaluations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement AI security strategy and roadmap initiatives.
Engineering & Development
Develop software solutions using modern programming languages and automation frameworks.
Build dashboards, analytics, and reporting capabilities to provide actionable security insights.
Implement AI-enabled security capabilities that improve threat detection, remediation, and operational efficiency.
Contribute to security platform architecture, design reviews, and engineering standards.
Perform technical investigations and root cause analysis for complex security challenges.
Stakeholder Management & Leadership
Partner with product teams, platform teams, architects, and security specialists.
Influence engineering practices through consultation, enablement, and developer advocacy.
Mentor team members and contribute to capability uplift across Security Engineering.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote innovation through experimentation and learning.
Represent Security Engineering in cross-functional programmes and transformation initiatives.
About You
Required Technical Skills
Strong software engineering and automation experience.
Experience developing APIs, integrations, and workflow automation.
Proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
Familiarity with Application Security concepts including:
Secure SDLC
SAST
SCA
DAST
Threat Modelling
Vulnerability Management
Experience working with Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code technologies.
AI Security Knowledge
Understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, and AI application architectures.
Awareness of emerging AI threats and security controls.
Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and AI security frameworks.
Experience evaluating AI security products or AI-enabled security solutions is highly desirable.
Desirable Experience
AI-driven security automation.
Security analytics and dashboard development.
