As a Senior / Lead Engineer in our Ports, Marine & Coastal team based in Perth, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.
The position may be offered at Senior Engineer or Lead Engineer level, depending on the candidate’s experience, technical capability, leadership responsibilities and project delivery track record.
Own or lead significant project components and major workstreams across ports, harbours, jetties, wharves, marine terminals, coastal infrastructure.
Plan and coordinate multidisciplinary delivery, aligning scope, sequencing, interfaces, resources, responsibilities and dependencies across the project team.
Develop, perform and review technical analyses, calculations, models, drawings, specifications and reports, ensuring compliance with project requirements, relevant standards and Aurecon’s quality expectations.
Resolve complex technical and delivery issues by balancing safety, constructability, operability, cost, programme, quality and risk to achieve practical outcomes.
Manage workstream and project performance, including budgets, schedules, resourcing, forecasting, change and risk, while supporting client engagement, proposals and follow-on opportunities.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring, support investigations and construction-phase services, and apply digital tools and knowledge sharing to improve quality, efficiency and team capability.
Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance are mandatory.
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline, with relevant structural, geotechnical, coastal, maritime or port expertise; postgraduate qualifications and Chartered status, or a clear pathway to Chartered status, are preferred.
Typically 8+ years of relevant experience in ports, marine, and coastal infrastructure, with appointment at Senior or Lead Engineer level depending on experience, technical capability and leadership track record.
A proven record delivering port and maritime projects, with strong capability in areas such as marine structures, jetties and wharves, berthing and mooring, terminals, coastal infrastructure, dredging, reclamation, condition assessment or remediation.
Demonstrated project, commercial and client leadership, including managing scope, budgets, schedules, resources, forecasts, risk and change; Lead-level candidates should also be able to lead major workstreams and multidisciplinary teams.
A consistent record of producing and reviewing high-quality technical outputs, mentoring others and applying relevant engineering and digital tools such as SpaceGass, STAAD.Pro, Optimoor, Rhinoceros 3D, BIM, Navisworks or GIS.
