Internal 2 weeks -17/07- 31/08

Formed in 1917, QEC is a public sector Early Parenting and Community Services organisation, supporting families across Noble Park, Wodonga, Preston, Hastings and Morwell to build parenting confidence and help children thrive. We deliver a variety of services and support programs to families with young children (aged from newborn to 4 years of age) in partnership with government and not for profit partners.

The role

Working directly under the Nurse Unit Manager- Residential Services, the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) is responsible for leading and supporting QEC’s multidisciplinary team in ensuring the delivery of the highest quality care and support for children and families engaged in the residential and day programs. The ANUM works competently within their scope of practice to deliver and lead safe, evidence based person-centred care to achieve optimal outcomes for all children. The ANUM is also responsible for coaching, role modelling, mentoring, and managing clinical staff to ensure optimal outcomes for all children.

The ANUM role effectively manages the day to day operation of their allocated Program Area on the residential unit. If rostered to work after hours or weekends, an ANUM will work and be paid in accordance with the pay classification in the Agreement.

About you

To be considered for this role you will possess:

Div 1 Registered Nurse and specialty (Midwife, Mental Health, Paediatrics)
Demonstrated experience and theoretical understanding of the vulnerabilities faced by families and the impacts on the safety and wellbeing of their children
Experience supporting families to access relevant services to address underlying vulnerabilities and risk factors
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines, targets and key deliverables of the program
Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and history, and current issues faced by Aboriginal children and their families
High Level of confidentiality
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
High level attention to detail
