As one of Australia’s leading Level 6 ICUs, John Hunter Hospital ICU offers a rare opportunity to be part of a service undergoing major growth and transformation, with an expanding Retrieval Service and a new Clinical Services Building opening in 2026.
Based in the region’s major trauma centre, you’ll join a highly skilled, supportive team driven by excellence, innovation and continuous improvement—helping shape the future of critical care.
You will work in a fast-paced, high-acute environment delivering advanced critical care across major trauma, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular, organ donation, PICU and retrieval services.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses who are ready to take the next step in their critical care journey. Whether you're experienced in ICU or aspiring to build your skills, you'll bring curiosity, resilience and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

At John Hunter Hospital ICU, your development starts from day one. You’ll receive a structured orientation with supernumerary support, hands-on clinical coaching, simulation training and ongoing bedside teaching from experienced ICU educators and senior staff.
