Outbound Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Reports to: VP Sales

Orisent designs and manufactures wireless emergency alert and communication systems used across construction, mining, industrial and related industries. Our solutions are trusted by many of Australia’s leading organisations and are deployed on sites nationwide. We have built a strong reputation for innovation, customer service and long-term customer relationships, resulting in high customer retention and a growing base of repeat business.
This newly created role sits between our Sales and Marketing functions and is central to converting commercial opportunities into closed business. It combines disciplined pipeline management, relationship-based account growth, and structured outbound development into markets we are actively expanding into.
This is a highly phone-based outbound sales role. Your primary focus will be speaking with customers and prospects, creating qualified sales opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships and developing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pipeline Follow-Up
· Conduct structured phone-based follow-up on received and quoted opportunities to support decision-making and progression.
· Ensure every active opportunity has a clearly defined next action and follow-up date.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions, opportunity status and follow-up activities in CRM.
· Identify stalled opportunities and escalate them.
2. Account Expansion
· Proactively identify new projects, additional sites and expansion opportunities within our existing customer base.
· Research companies, projects and decision-makers using internal databases, social media and other business resources before making contact.
· Secure qualified appointments for the Sales team with existing customers relating to new projects, sites or business units.
· Follow up marketing campaigns with existing customers and convert engagement into meaningful sales conversations.
3. Market Development
· Follow up with prospects who have engaged through Marketing's email campaigns, digital advertising, industry events, webinars, or other outreach into new segments, converting engagement into qualified conversations.
· Assess opportunities and secure appointments for the Sales team.
· Maintain accurate CRM records for all prospect activity and follow-up.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated success in a proactive outbound sales environment and enjoys creating opportunities through consistent customer engagement.
You’ll ideally have:
· Experience in Outbound Sales, Internal Sales, Appointment Setting or similar proactive sales roles.
· Strong verbal communication and telephone skills with the confidence to engage customers and prospects throughout the day.
· A disciplined and organised approach to follow-up and CRM management.
· Strong computer literacy, including experience with CRM systems, LinkedIn, business research tools and AI-assisted productivity tools.
· The ability to build rapport quickly and ask commercially relevant questions.
· Resilience, persistence and a positive attitude when working outbound opportunities.
· The ability to work independently while remaining closely connected with the Sales and Marketing teams.
Experience within construction, industrial, technology or safety-related industries will be highly regarded but is not essential. Full training will be provided, including product-specific on our systems and equipment, and induction into our CRM, databases, and internal tools. No prior experience with our specific product category is required
Working Arrangement
This role is open to candidates located anywhere along Australia’s eastern seaboard.
Exceptional candidates located elsewhere in Australia, including Western Australia, may also be considered, provided they are willing and able to work Sydney business hours.
Our head office is located in Alexandria, Sydney. Sydney-based employees may work from the office, remotely or through a flexible hybrid arrangement.
For the right candidate, we are flexible about where the work is performed. What matters most is consistent execution, collaboration and results.
Regardless of location, the successful candidate will remain actively engaged with the Sales and Marketing teams throughout Sydney business hours.
Occasional interstate travel may be required for client meetings, training and company events.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
