About Us
Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria's first standalone public mental health service designed specifically for young people aged 12–25.
Operational from July 2025, PYMHWS is transforming how youth mental health care is accessed, experienced and delivered across Melbourne's north and west. We provide specialist community, inpatient and recovery-focused services through multidisciplinary teams working alongside young people, families, carers and kin.

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Consultant to lead Early Career Pathways across PYMHWS.
This key leadership role is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of graduate and transition-to-specialty-practice nursing programs. Working across multiple sites and service streams, you will support the growth of a skilled, confident and future-focused youth mental health nursing workforce.
You will collaborate closely with nursing leadership, multidisciplinary teams, lived and living experience workforce representatives, universities and sector partners to ensure our early career nurses receive high-quality education, supervision and professional development opportunities.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Nursing Workforce Development and Learning, you will:
Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of graduate and transition nursing programs
Coordinate structured learning pathways for nurses entering youth mental health practice
Deliver education, workshops, simulation and reflective learning activities
Coordinate clinical supervision, mentoring and coaching programs
Support recruitment, onboarding and retention initiatives for early career nurses
Build strong partnerships with universities, professional bodies and sector stakeholders
Promote evidence-based practice and continuous improvement across nursing workforce development
Act as an expert resource on nursing standards, scope of practice and specialty capability development
Represent PYMHWS in workforce development and nursing education forums
About You
You are an experienced mental health nurse leader who is passionate about developing others and strengthening workforce capability.
You will bring:
Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing
Master's degree in Mental Health Nursing, Education, Leadership or a related discipline (or working towards completion)
Demonstrated experience leading education, clinical supervision or early career nursing workforce programs
Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills
Experience designing, implementing and evaluating workforce development initiatives
Commitment to youth-first, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice
Desirable
Qualification in education, clinical supervision or workforce development
Experience within youth mental health services
