About the role
The Manager, Ministerial Events leads a team responsible for coordinating Ministerial events, stakeholder briefs and enquiries within the Public Affairs branch. The role provides advice on government protocols, manages engagement with Ministerial offices and supports joint announcements with government partners. The position requires strong stakeholder management, attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate information under pressure. It also involves leading a high-performing team, managing critical deadlines and ensuring effective processes, communication and collaboration across the department.

Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess issues, identify solutions and improve processes.
Builds strong relationships by understanding stakeholder needs, tailoring communication and managing expectations effectively.
Communicates clearly and confidently, delivering accurate and concise information to suit different audiences.
Remains resilient and adaptable in changing environments, finding new approaches to achieve positive outcomes.
Takes an outcomes-focused approach by aligning strategies to community needs and removing barriers to delivery.

Qualifications and experience

You’ll bring:

Proven experience leading teams within communications, events or public affairs environments (mandatory).
Ability to understand complex and sensitive issues and communicate information clearly, concisely and effectively, particularly in high-profile contexts (mandatory).
Understanding of government processes and policies, with experience supporting executive leadership teams (mandatory).
A relevant qualification in communications, media, public administration or political science would be desirable.
