Not every management role changes someone's life. This one genuinely can.
This isn't just another fitness studio.
Every week we see women (and men) walk through our doors who are nervous, lacking confidence, convinced they'll never be strong enough, coordinated enough or "fit enough."
A few months later they're performing on stage, doing photoshoots, making lifelong friends, celebrating milestones they never thought they'd achieve, and telling us they've finally found somewhere they belong.
We don't take that responsibility lightly.
We're looking for someone who wants to take ownership of that experience and help it grow.
A bit about us.
The Pole Room is one of Melbourne's leading pole fitness communities, and we're proud to run the Narre Warren and Rowville studios.
While we're part of a larger franchise, our local community is something we've worked incredibly hard to build. We'd much rather be known for the feeling people get when they walk through our doors than how many followers we have.
For many of our students, this is more than a workout. It's where they've found confidence they never knew they had, made lifelong friendships, discovered a love of movement, or simply found an hour each week that's just for them.
People don't stay because of the poles.
They stay because they're greeted by name. Because someone notices when they've had a tough week. Because the whole room celebrates when they finally land the trick they've been chasing. Because they leave feeling stronger, happier and more confident than when they arrived.
That's the kind of community we're building at Narre Warren and Rowville.
And that's what you'll be helping lead every single day.
What does the job actually involve?
You'll oversee the day-to-day running of the studio in a part-time capacity, take ownership of reception, manage the teachers, keep things organised, solve problems before they become big problems, and make sure the studio continues to feel like the welcoming place our members love.
Some days you'll be managing the team.
Some days you'll be helping a nervous first-time student feel comfortable.
Some days you'll be looking at numbers, improving systems or figuring out how we can make things run better.
No two weeks are exactly the same, and we like it that way.
One thing we won't shy away from...
Sales are part of this role.
Before you stop reading...
We're not interested in pushy salespeople.
We're interested in people who are great at conversations.
Someone enquires because they're looking for something. Maybe it's confidence. Maybe it's fitness. Maybe it's a community.
Your job is to understand what they're looking for and help them take that first step.
You'll be responsible for following up new enquiries, filling regular intakes, helping prospective students choose the right membership, as well as upgrading memberships, and ensuring people don't fall through the cracks.
Sales performance is a KPI because every membership represents another person we've helped start a journey that could genuinely change their life.
If you enjoy connecting with people and can confidently ask for the sale when it's the right fit, you'll do well here.
We're probably looking for you if...
You already have management experience.
You already have sales experience.
You've worked in customer-facing businesses where service matters.
You've had sales targets before and understand that commercial success keeps great businesses alive.
You're organised.
You notice when things need doing before someone asks.
You're comfortable making decisions.
You don't wait to be told what to do.
Most importantly...
You care.
Because this role isn't about making sure classes start on time.
It's about making sure every person who walks through our doors has the experience they deserve even if they don’t know it yet!
What you'll get from us.
We're essentially a small business, which means you won't disappear into layers of management.
You'll work directly with the owner.
Your ideas won't need to go through five meetings before something happens.
If you've got a better way of doing something, we'll listen.
If you want to grow, we'll help you wherever possible.
If you take ownership, you'll have the freedom to make this role your own.
We're not looking for someone to simply manage a studio. You also don’t need prior pole experience (we can handle that part).
We're looking for someone who'll treat this community like it's their own.
Someone who understands that behind every enquiry is a person who's taken a big step by reaching out.
Someone who wants to lead a team, build a culture people love being part of, and help shape the future of The Pole Room Narre Warren and The Pole Room Rowville.
If you're reading this thinking, "That sounds exactly like the kind of role I've been looking for," we'd love to hear from you.
