About the role
Reporting to the Construction Manager the Project Engineer will support the planning, coordination and delivery of pavement construction, rehabilitation and stabilisation projects across WA. The role combines technical input, project controls, field coordination and commercial support to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with Technical Specifications, Programme, Budget and Quality Assurance requirements.
Duties
- Lead? and deliver project outcomes aligned with business expectations in relation to Safety, Quality and commercial expectations.
- Support the planning and delivery of pavement construction, rehabilitation, stabilisation and associated civil works across WA.
- Review scopes, drawings, specifications and site information to identify technical risks, constructability issues and commercial opportunities.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and suppliers to support safe, efficient and compliant project delivery.
- Manage quality and compliance records, including ITPs, lot records, test results, non-conformances and handover documentation.
- Manage risk and opportunity in delivery and commercial terms achieving the best outcomes for the business and the client.
- Assist with project cost tracking, procurement, progress claims, variations, forecasting and commercial reporting.
- Liaise with clients, project teams, supervisors, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and delivery issues.
- Prepare accurate site records, progress updates and project documentation to support delivery, close-out and continuous improvement.
- Provide Technical support to the tender team when required.
Skills and Experiences:
Skills & experience
- Civil Engineering degree qualified
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Exposure to Teir 1-2 and Resources WA sector (desirable)
- WA Main Roads and Pavements experience (desirable)
- Appreciation of Project cost management and forecasting requirements
- Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite
- Proficient in MS Project or Primevera P6
- AutoCAD experience desirable but not essential
