Join Horizon Power as our
Remote Communities Assurance Manager and play a critical role in strengthening assurance, compliance and risk management across our Remote Communities division.
This is not a role stepping into a mature assurance function. It is an opportunity to help shape and build the future assurance framework for a business that services approximately 117 remote community power stations and associated distribution networks across regional and remote Western Australia.
Working within a high-risk, highly regulated operational environment, you'll lead a specialist assurance team, challenge assumptions constructively, identify emerging risks and develop practical assurance approaches that improve operational performance, compliance and control effectiveness.

Your role in action:
- Lead the development and delivery of risk-based assurance programs, audits, inspections and investigations across Remote Communities operations.
- Identify key operational, safety and compliance risks and drive practical, sustainable improvement actions across the business.
- Build and lead a high-performing specialist assurance team while partnering with operational leaders, contractors and regulators to strengthen governance and assurance outcomes
- Provide assurance insights and reporting that support informed decision-making, improved control effectiveness and stronger operational performance.
What you’ll bring:
- Significant experience in assurance, audit, compliance, investigations or risk management within utilities, energy, mining or other highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing risk-based assurance frameworks and assessing control effectiveness in complex operational environments.
- Tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Engineering, Safety, Compliance or a related discipline, with Risk Management highly preferred.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence, challenge and build trust across all levels of an organisation.
- Experience operating in remote, geographically dispersed or operationally challenging environments.

- Building a practical and effective assurance culture across Remote Communities.
- Translating complex regulatory, safety and operational risks into meaningful business improvements.
- Strengthening regulatory confidence and helping shape the future assurance model for Horizon Power's Remote Communities division.
